Position Summary
This position is responsible for supervising and working with grounds crew; plans, organizes, and supervises the construction, care, and maintenance of the town’s park, recreational areas, facilities, and public grounds. Work includes directing work crews of Highway, Water, Sewer, Vehicle Maintenance, snow/ice, and other operations, ensuring the quality and completeness of work performed and assisting in the overall efficiency of project operations.
The current negotiated wage range for the position is $30.06 to $34.50 per hour. Compensation is based on a combination of education, experience, licenses, and/or certifications. Uniforms with cleaning provided, paid vacation, compensatory time, 14 paid holidays, and much more.

Qualifications
High School or trade school diploma, or their equivalency required. Generally, requires three (3) to five (5) years of personnel management experience with strong knowledge in the operational methods, materials, and equipment required to perform all assigned duties. Must have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to independently operate heavy construction equipment (e.g., Excavator, Loader, etc.) on a routine and regular basis. A combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position will be considered.
Must possess a valid Massachusetts Class B Operator's License (CDL) with Air Brake and tanker endorsement, hoister's license 2A & 4G, OSHA-10, and any other licenses/endorsements required by state or federal law. Overtime hours required in unusual situations and emergencies.

Preference will be given to those applicants who have demonstrated experience in Municipal Public Works Departments with supervisory responsibilities of unionized subordinate staff members. This is NOT a CDL Driving (pick-up & delivery) position.
