Description:
OneHolyoke CDC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving conditions for low- and moderate-income residents of Holyoke, MA, is seeking an analytical Director of Finance. This Director guides the organization’s financial planning and accounting practices as well as interfaces regularly with the Board of Directors and lending institutions. The successful candidate will have a high degree of diplomacy, strong analytical and cash flow expertise, and demonstrated experience in a nonprofit organization with extensive grant administration knowledge. Responsibilities include:
• Creates, coordinates, and evaluates the financial programs and supporting information systems of the agency to include budgeting, project controls, real estate, and conservation of assets;
• Oversees the approval and processing of all revenue, expenditure, and profit & loss statements, budgets, payroll, ledger, and account maintenance and data entry;
• Prepares, analyzes, and reviews the financial statements, financial reports, special analyses, and information reports;
• Directs and coordinates the establishment of budget programs, including an array of complex funding applications for the development and operation of subsidized housing projects: including but not limited to HOME Investment Partnership Funding, LIHTC & Section 202 Loans;
• Oversees and directs the preparation of a wide array of Grant Requests and Administration, maintaining reports of Grant expenditures income to funders, and company stakeholders: i.e. Community Development Block Grant & Massachusetts Community Investment Tax Credits;
• Oversees and directs monthly reporting to HUD for all financial and rental activities at The Elms Inc.
Requirements:
Qualifications include:
• Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred; educational preference may be supplanted by no fewer than four years’ experience in a similar position;
• Strong communication skills;
• Experience with Federal, State, Local, & Private funders, including grants, is required. Knowledge of federal and subsidized housing requirements is preferred. Company provided training will be mandatory to gain intimate knowledge of federal housing grants policies and procedures.
