Description:
We have an opening for a skilled Account Manager/Inside Salesperson who can meet or exceed lead generation goals for our energy efficiency and waste reduction consulting services. This position secures leads through cold calling and physical site visits and provides outreach, education and technical assistance throughout the sales process. The Account Manager/Inside Salesperson actively manages, follows up and proactively communicates with our existing customer base. This position is responsible for consistently surveying activity and researching, reaching out and qualifying new leads. Responsible for obtaining and communicating market information to management and advising on conditions and industry trends. Provides accurate information to technical services team when handing off projects.

Overview of Responsibilities:
Business Development: Applies knowledge and experience of assigned territory to identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business. Using a sales-driven approach with a well-crafted delivery, explains the Center for EcoTechnology’s mission and positive environmental impact and energy savings opportunities for customers. Cross-sells services throughout the CET coverage area.
Meets and exceeds call number quota; secures sales and meets or exceeds sales goals. Builds and fosters a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth. Develops and maintains an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and responds accordingly. Collaborates with marketing department to ensure marketing materials are effective. Uses marketing data from applicable sales management software tools (such as BidClerk) to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness and maintains accurate records in our CRM (Salesforce).
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, preferably working in field related to energy efficiency. Must have sales personality and orientation with demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close sales. Ability to track and report results via Salesforce (or the ability to learn it). Excellent communication and sales skills with ability to listen actively, speak effectively, and write well. Experience with Internet, Microsoft Office and databases.

Must be organized and have the ability to work independently. Must have professional appearance and communication style as appropriate for business setting. Work style should be flexible, reliable, self-directed, and have a proficient work ethic. Must have leadership skills. Reliable, hardworking, trustworthy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Passion for the environment and community involvement. Must have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and use of reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
