Description:
Market Street Research is seeking an exceptional research analyst to join our team. This individual is responsible for overseeing the execution and analysis of custom marketing research projects from designing research instruments through creating research reports, complete with recommendations. This position requires someone who can start with a client’s business needs and be able to work with a team to translate that into an actionable research plan, study design and thoughtful analysis. Market Street Research welcomes applications from those who live outside of the Northampton, Massachusetts area, as this position can be entirely remote for the right candidate.

Market Street Research provides custom market research to clients in a variety of industries including healthcare, banking, education, and government. Research projects include both qualitative and quantitative methodologies as well as secondary data analysis, and generally focus on, but are not limited to, image and awareness studies, market segmentation, employee engagement, and customer satisfaction.

Summary

The Research Analyst is responsible for executing and analyzing custom marketing research projects from inception through reporting, from designing research instruments through creating research reports, complete with recommendations. This position requires someone who can start with a client’s business needs and be able to work with a team to translate that into an actionable research plan, study design and thoughtful analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from inception through to completion
• Create data collection instruments, including IDI and moderator guides and questionnaires
• Advise on sampling and weighting issues
• Conduct thorough and careful analysis of data by gathering critical information, then analyzing, interpreting and synthesizing key learnings from primary and secondary research sources
• Communicate strategic insights based on data and provide sound business recommendations
• Drive innovation in methodology, analysis, reporting and presentation
• Support business development activities with proposal writing and preparation of content marketing materials including blogs, infographics and website content
• Attend relevant professional conferences

Experience

• Conducting or overseeing in-depth interviews and on-line focus groups
• Conducting research studies over the Internet and/or using a pre-recruited panel or RDD sample
• Utilizing a variety of different research methods
• Working with sample design and weighting issues
• Working with multivariate techniques such as factor analysis, cluster/segmentation analysis, conjoint analysis, and various types of regression analysis
• Using software tools (SPSS, Q, PowerPoint, Excel) to deliver results

Skills

• Excellent analytic skills
• Must be able to see the “big picture” and be able to relate findings across different studies
• Ability to communicate information in a creative and visual way
• Strong inclination toward innovation and constant improvement
• Strong technical proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SPSS
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be proactive and take initiative to identify and solve problems as well as to learn more about market research and existing clients’ businesses
• Must be driven and self-motivated, especially if working remotely outside of the Northampton, MA area
• Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Commitment and dedication to quality and timelines
• Strong written and oral communication skills

Requirements

• Masters preferred, Bachelors adequate for an otherwise exceptional candidate with at least 5 years of advanced research experience
• 5+ years of both quantitative and qualitative research experience
• Experience with custom market research a plus
