Description:
EcoBuilding Bargains is the largest used building materials store in New England and is an enterprise of the Center for EcoTechnology. The store’s mission is to keep thousands of tons of trash out of landfills by making salvaged building materials, furnishings and appliances available to people looking for quality bargains. We are looking for an outgoing, hard-working, and enthusiastic Building Materials Donations Relationship Rep to join our team who is passionate about reducing waste, reuse and recycling.

Acting as an outside sales rep, the Building Materials Donations Relationship Rep manages designated territories primarily in Connecticut and Westchester County to secure materials donations for sale in the store. The Building Materials Donations Relationship Rep, our “Recovery and Donations Specialist,” prospects high value donations with a focus on building materials and kitchens through cold calling and site visits. A successful “sale” includes securing the donation and working with the on-site team to facilitate successful delivery to the store. We are looking for someone who has experience developing ongoing, profitable relationships with clients and has knowledge of the building industry and/or kitchen design.

The Building Materials Donations Relationship Rep will:
* Apply knowledge and experience of assigned territory to identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.
* Build relationship with contractors, deconstruction businesses, retailers, distributors, manufacturers and building materials suppliers. Using a sales-driven approach with a well-crafted delivery, explain CET’s and EcoBuilding Bargain’s mission and the savings opportunities for customers.
* Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for growth in donated materials. Develop and maintain an awareness of market behavior and competitive trends and responds accordingly.
* Use marketing data from applicable sales management software tools to maximize sales efficiency and effectiveness. Maintain accurate records, including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.

This job will spend a lot of time on the road in Westchester County and in Connecticut, connecting with builders, contractors, architects, and others in the home renovation business. This position can be based out of a home office in Connecticut and report into EcoBuilding Bargains in Springfield, MA about once a week.
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to CET’s mission. To be successful in this job, you must have sales personality and orientation with demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close sales. You must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales; experience in construction and/or building supplies and/or kitchen design preferred. You must have:

The ability to communicate effectively, persuasively and respectfully through speech and writing.
Experience with Internet, Microsoft Office and databases.
The ability to work independently with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Professional appearance and communication style as appropriate for business setting.
Work style that is hard-working, flexible, reliable, self-directed, and trustworthy.
A clean driving record and a valid Massachusetts driver’s license and use of reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
