Description:
The Center for EcoTechnology is looking for an Information Services Specialist to provide information technology support and administration across multiple programs and platforms. The IS Specialist supports CET's environmental mission by providing support for business data applications and will have the ability to troubleshoot and modify existing systems and processes. The IS Specialist assesses, recommends and implements automation and integration improvements of existing data collection tools based on internal and external customer requirements. The IS Specialist will have the opportunity to work on new projects and initiatives as we develop programs and service offerings.

Primary Function:
Administration: Supports the effective and efficient operations of CET’s databases and information systems. Supports the data collection, reporting and quality control processes. Generates reports as requirements dictate. Works closely with department leaders and staff to gather information about data needs, define solutions, and identify technical issues. Troubleshoots problems and responds proactively to system inefficiencies and errors. Documents projects, recommendations and procedures.

Development: Identifies alternatives and improvements to current systems. Recommends new systems, applications, and practices based on industry standards. Designs, develops and implements applications and tools as approved. Supports the automation and integration of existing and new data collection tools and strategies

Communication: Maintains active and ongoing communication with programs leads and users. Communicates project outcomes in a clear, effective and timely manner to necessary parties in the business unit and other customer areas. Develops partnerships with external vendors to assure superior customer service.

Training: Develops training tools and manuals for the data tools and applications used by CET. Provides training support as requested.

Requirements:
Must have minimum 3 years of practical experience as IS Specialist or similar. Must be comfortable with Access and MySQL with experience and solid understanding of the principles of database management and business process workflow, design and reporting. Must have strong command of Microsoft Office suite including advanced knowledge of Excel and Visual Basic. Familiarity with Salesforce and SharePoint preferred or ability to learn; familiarity with PHP, SQL.

Must have excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Must be able to manage multiple customers and partners. Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical partners. High degree of accuracy and attention to detail required.
