Become a part of our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Counselor in the Northern Hope Center at Behavioral Health Network! Counselors work alongside the Program Director and Senior Counselor to ensure compliance and quality of services and activities provided to the individuals. Counselors provide guidance and direct counseling to individuals in their caseload and develop and facilitate unique treatment plans. Counselors facilitate diverse psycho-educational groups for the individuals and help them with aftercare planning by referring them to appropriate agencies. When needed, Counselors provide crisis intervention and emergency services and may contact their supervisors for guidance. Additionally, Counselors provide transportation for individuals, report any recognized safety and maintenance concerns in their program, and complete required documentation fully, accurately, and on time.

Counselors will learn to work as a collaborative team with the goal of delivering high quality sound clinical treatment. Counselors will grow through ongoing training and firsthand experience that will enhance their skills and provide additional employment opportunities.

Behavioral Health Network’s Northern Hope Center in Greenfield, MA is a 32-bed step-down program. We provide up to 30 days of inpatient post detoxification and/or stabilization services for men and woman, ages 18 and older, with a primary substance use disorder diagnosis. Our goal is to provide appropriate interventions and services that allow individuals to engage in early recovery and transition to the next level of treatment. Requirements:
Counselors at Behavioral Health Network have the following qualities:
• Commitment to empowerment and growth, human rights, and community integration for individuals served (required).
• Familiarity with Internet, word processing and email systems (required).
• Have a working knowledge of DPH Bureau of Substance Abuse regulations (required).
• LADCI or LADCII or equivalent (required).
• 2 years experience in Human Services with minimum of one year experience working in substance treatment environment (required).
• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable vehicle.
