Up to One Year
|Community Bridger, 20 hours per week. Facilitate groups in local psychiatric units (Springfield, Holyoke, Northampton), and offer support to individuals transitioning from hospital back to community. May include a range of activities from advocacy at appointments, visiting community centers and groups together, working through applications for housing or benefits, and more.|
|Personal experience living through trauma, psychiatric diagnosis, homelessness, addiction and/or a variety of other life-interrupting challenges required. Access to a reliable vehicle that you are able to use for work purposes required, including willingness to transport others in your car. First-hand experience staying on a psychiatric unit strongly preferred. Understanding and commitment to examining and healing systemic oppression related to racism, gender, psychiatric diagnosis, etc., a must! Relevant trainings (Intentional Peer Support, Certified Peer Specialist, Alternatives to Suicide, etc.) a plus. Bilingual/Bicultural (English/Spanish) a big plus! AA/EOE. |
