The Pioneer Valley Symphony was established in 1939, and is one of the oldest community orchestras in the US. Based in Greenfield, Massachusetts, the PVS connects, engages, inspires and enhances our community by providing opportunities to make, appreciate and learn about music. Description:
The Pioneer Valley Symphony Production Manager oversees the various tasks needed to put on all 2018-2019 season concerts. PM establishes and oversees production needs, including:
-coordinating production requirements with venues and staff
-overseeing instrument haulage
-collaborating with volunteer stage managers
-running box office
-overseeing volunteer ushers
-supporting volunteer concessions coordinators
-managing event logistics of public pre- and post- concert functions.

The PM works very independently, and in close and active communication with staff and volunteers of the Pioneer Valley Symphony. Position has VERY FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, perfect for a student of events/arts management, or person with other full-time employment. Responsibilities occur primarily in the 2-3 weeks prior to each concert. Some evening and weekend work required.
Requirements:
Your own transportation.
Experience managing events, orchestra, theater, etc.
Ability to work very independently and communicate clearly.
