Description:
The Director of ABI/MFP Residential Services is responsible for the everyday operation of the ABI/MFP Residential Department ensuring that individuals served within the Department live in homes that are valued within the community and that have the highest quality of life possible.

Responsibilities include:

Treat each individual, co-worker, supervisor and others with the respect and dignity due every human being, and adhere to the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDS) Human Rights Standards and the Disabled Persons Protection Commission’s (DPPC) Mandated Reporter Guidelines around physical and emotional abuse, including the timely reporting of violations.

Ensure all homes meet quality assurance and certification standards by monthly review of necessary documentation and routine participation in and/or observation of services provided. Complete and follow up on home inspections.

Oversee referral and intake process.

Provide case management support to individuals as needed. Reviews all Individual Support Plans (ISP) and other related information and sign off on annual reviews; attend ISP meetings as necessary.

Plan and participates in activities for individuals.

Provide advocacy, guidance and information to individuals and families served within the Residential Department.

Oversee the interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of new employees.

Provide supervision and training to Program Coordinators and as needed, House Managers. Facilitates staff meetings. Ensures that staff training and evaluations are up to date. Meet regularly with each staff member for supervision and complete annual evaluations/assessments as required. Follow through on employee disciplinary action and/concerns as directed.

Identify staff training needs, make recommendations for future trainings and provide resources and training opportunities for employees. Participate in the Agency’s Training Committee and attend monthly meetings.

Provide regular reports and documentation to the Vice President of Residential Services, ED, DDS and the finance department regarding program services.

Participate in contract monitoring meetings with area DDS liaison and provide updates as requested on status of contract objectives, etc.

Maintain liaison relationship with DDS and other generic community resources to facilitate collaborative efforts and integration of services.

Travel is necessary with this position as we have ABI/MFP homes in Berkshire, Hamden and Hampshire Counties.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree is preferred and a minimum of 5 years of experience in residential services with 2 of these being in a supervisory capacity is required. Ready access to an automobile and a valid driver’s license also required.
