Description:
The Curriculum and Instructional Designer for Responsive Classroom Elementary is responsible for leading a range of CRS project development; primarily developing and designing goal driven, learner centered scalable courses and workshops including creating all products, curriculum content and e-learning experiences to deliver the course or workshop. The Curriculum and Instructional Designer has significant content knowledge and expertise related to the courses and workshops they develop and are able to design instruction using evidence-based and field-tested strategies to meet the learning objectives. They are skilled at developing tools and materials that create an engaging learning experience

This position is responsible for ensuring that all curriculum content and instructional design is grounded in theory, research and practical knowledge. This position makes recommendations for adaption, revision and evolution of content in order to ensure that the work is current, relevant, articulated clearly and fully and is aligned to the best and most current research.

The Curriculum and Instruction Designer is also responsible for delivering courses, workshops and training, and services that they develop or participate in developing; representing CRS at a variety of events; participating in peer reviews and contributing to the development of CRS retail products and services as assigned. Must be a continuous learner and stay current in areas such as best instructional and learning practices, SEL, positive student discipline, curriculum design, and adult learning.

This position is eligible for a teleworking arrangement under the company’s Teleworking Policy.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Leading Project Development
? Participates in identifying the performance level, skills, knowledge, practice (behavior) and dispositions of the intended audience and writing the overarching learning goals for the course, workshop or project in order for the learners to achieve the identified level of performance.
? Writes and creates learning goals, organizes and (when appropriate) develops content or recommends the development of instructional content based upon instructional theory and best practices in the field.
? Design and revise courses and workshops using a variety of techniques and sequencing the instructional content in a logical progression.
? Develops or modifies existing instructional materials.
? Leads the production of all instructional materials, including print and media resources.
? Design instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.
? Create an evaluation of each course or workshop to assess its effectiveness and impact.
? Work with internal team and external experts (i.e, PPT, resource book, video production) to produce pilot and final version for each course or workshop.
? Collaborates with Principal Scientist to design project evaluation.

Planning, Management and Quality Assurance
? Ensures program coherence and alignment across and among the various tools and resources; identifies misalignments and works with Program Director to make timely corrections.
? Responsible for developing and improving tools to assess the effectiveness of program services.
? Work collaboratively on peer review teams to review books, book chapters, blogs, newsletter articles, or other materials
? Write or serve as content contributor for books, book chapters, blogs, newsletter articles, or other similar instructional information
? Establish a process to review and include feedback from participants to be used as a part of the quality assurance and course maintenance processes
? Work on peer review teams for any CRS work or projects.

Course and Workshop Delivery; Working with Clients; Representing CRS
? Delivers workshops and serves as a facilitator at CRS sponsored events.
? Meets with educational stakeholders to coach or consult on instructional or school needs
Requirements:
? Requires a 4-year degree in the field of education, instructional design, or a related discipline from a regionally accredited institution, 3 + years of teaching experience; RC Teacher & Presenter Certification Required
? Experience with working on or leading collaborative team projects involving internal and external constituents
? Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner
? Ability and interest in working with a high degree of autonomy and with a high degree of professionalism
? Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google productivity software
