JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for thoroughly and accurately maintaining accounts and documentation, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices, for the members of the Global Educators association. The Staff Accountant will also assist the Director of Finance with special projects focused on company growth.
The Staff Accountant will report to the Director of Finance and work daily with a small but powerful team.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Maintain and keep General Ledger current for 7 companies
Month end reconciliations for 7 - 9 companies
Special projects and ad hoc tasks for the Director of Finance
Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
Other tasks as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s in Accounting with 3.0 GPA or higher OR at least 1 year of accounting work experience
Solid understanding of the Accounting Equation & GAAP
Strong attention to detail
Data entry competencies
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Positive attitude and eagerness to learn

Have a working knowledge of QuickBooks
Possess high-level organizational skills
Have significant experience with Excel
Have experience with complex reconciliations
