Description:
Red Fire Farm is seeking someone who is detail oriented and well organized to help get our produce and supplies delivered. Reporting to the Farm General Manager and the farm owners, you will be in charge of overseeing all farm transportation, including vegetables and supplies.

You will work closely with the other managers on the farm to get things where they need to go. In order to accomplish this you’ll supervise a staff of 3-4 full-time farm delivery drivers; including hiring and firing with the help of the HR Manager.

The right candidate will be willing to work on team and on solo projects, and will work very well under deadlines and in stressful situations. You must be able to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in written form to relay important details and delegate tasks. You should also enjoy the challenge of problem solving and reacting quickly to spur of the moment changes and requests. Spanish language skills are a plus.

Requirements

2-4 years experience in the following areas:
Managing transportation/ dispatching
Driving box trucks or equivalent heavy machinery
Customer service
People management skills
Basic vehicle maintenance
Excel and basic computer proficiency
An average day would start early in the morning on the loading dock helping the delivery drivers get their trucks loaded and out for the day. After that, you’ll spend some time in the farm office communicating with other managers about what needs to happen in the coming days by organizing routes and route sheets via Excel and email. You will also be in charge of responding to any and all roadside truck emergencies that might come up. Should the need arise, you should be able and willing to lift 30-50 lbs repeatedly and drive a box truck to make deliveries yourself. Typically on the farm, we help out across departments and are committed to staying until the job is done. This position is full time (maximum 40 hours per week) with reduced hours in the winter months due to fewer delivery needs.
