Chimney Corners Camp, Camp Becket, the Travel and Service Program, and the Becket Day Camp are the primary program focuses for the Becket-Chimney Corners YMCA. Camp Becket for boys and Chimney Corners Camp for girls are traditional resident camps with rich traditions and commitment to character development. Program offerings are in aquatics, athletics, theater, dance, creative arts, horseback riding, service learning, adventure trips, team building and high ropes. Our Travel & Service Programs offer a unique life experience to teens. Becket Day Camp offers summer programming for youth 5 to 12 yrs old. We are conveniently located off Route 8 past Jacobs Pillow; 15 minutes from center of Lee. Our hard-working custodial and groundskeeping team keep camp clean and well-maintained. Our support team makes camp the best it can be. We hire support staff that helps out in various roles at our camp. All positions would ideally be filled for a period of 10-11 weeks during the months of June, July, and August. There may be an opportunity to work for a shorter period of time. Working in cooperation with staff and participants to ensure camp is kept clean and safe for all, the maintenance team is primarily responsibility for the cleaning and upkeep of the campgrounds and all facilities. Duties will include cleaning toilets/sinks/showers, sweeping, mopping floors and emptying trash. May assist with maintaining front of dining hall to ensure cleanliness, safety, and upkeep through meal service as well as cleaning and upkeep of the dining hall equipment, supplies, and facilities including dishwashing and cleaning/sanitization of all food prep and food serving surfaces. General landscaping of mowing, weed whacking, brush clearing throughout the camp property. Minor repairs and upkeep such as broken water lines, screen doors/windows, replacing batteries and light bulbs, mending fences, staining, painting, etc. Requirements: The most important skills any applicant can bring to these positions are flexibility, openness, and a positive attitude. Staff are also expected to be willing and able to switch between departments as circumstances require.
