JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Communications & Advising Assistant is primarily responsible for the following key areas within our Marketing division: managing incoming inquiries and answering questions, directing students to appropriate resources, and moving applicants along in the process. This position reports to Assistant Vice President of Marketing & Communications.


SPECIFIC DUTIES:
-Answer incoming calls from interested students, parents, and university advisors
-Answer student questions through text message, chat, and email channels (questions about -programs, how the process works, next steps, etc.)
-Refer students to additional people and resources as needed
-Convert student leads into paid applicants through sales techniques
-Assist with lead imports sourced from university events across the US
-Assist with organizing student content such as student photos and blogs as well as creating content to appeal to current US university students
-Move applicants along in the application process through connecting them to their program enrollment coordinator, communicating helpful content, and answering key questions at the early application stage
-This position is fluid and may have other assigned duties as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
-Bachelor’s degree or four years experience in the travel industry
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Demonstrated attention to detail and follow through
-Exceptional customer service and time management skills
-Computer fluency in most major applications such as Google Suite (Docs, Forms, Sheets, etc)
-Outstanding written and oral communication skills
-Comfortable with a fast-paced and changing environment
-Customer service orientation

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
-Experience working/volunteering/studying/traveling abroad
-Previous database/CRM/digital systems experience
-Previous office experience
-A strong understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice
