Description:
Deerfield Academy Human Resources is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, and in collaboration with their HR colleagues, the Human Resources Generalist will perform HR-related administrative duties in all areas of Human Resources, including recruiting, employee relations, payroll and benefits, and employee training.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include:

This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to implement and lead recruiting activities for non-exempt staff positions, and to provide support for exempt-level recruitment as the Academy seeks, identifies, and retains a diverse body of employees.

The HR Generalist will also assist with the development and administration of effective employee onboarding programs; support supervisors and employees with communications, training, and coaching regarding policy interpretation and application; collaborate with the appropriate departments to manage internal and external Human Resources websites; assist the Payroll and Benefits Administrator, including regularly processing non-exempt payroll and serving as backup for exempt payroll processing; manage all workers' compensation case files and unemployment claims; oversee I-9 recordkeeping and conduct audits to maintain compliance; collaborate with HR leadership to develop and implement training programs; manage training module functionality; and collaborate with HR team members to address organizational needs, as well as initiating and participating in a variety of other HR-related projects.
Requirements:
The successful candidate will possess: a Bachelor’s Degree, 3-5 years’ HR Generalist experience, thorough knowledge of HR best practices and federal and state employment law; demonstrated knowledge of payroll processing and associated reporting; excellent data entry skills; excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks; ability to work independently as well as part of a team; exceptional verbal, and written communication skills; proficiency with MS Office Suite and experience with and/or the ability to learn an HRIS and talent management system, ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information.
