Interested in joining our team of dedicated professionals? Way Finders is currently seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is primarily responsible for providing diversified accounting support within the organization's fiscal office, applying generally accepted accounting principles.

The candidate will work in a hybrid-remote capacity temporarily due to Covid-19, and must live within commutable distance to the main office in Springfield, MA. In-office work and local in-person meetings are occasionally expected during the pandemic.

Responsibilities include:
-Analyze general ledger activity and make adjustments as required
-Manage all insurance matters for the agency
-Reconcile bank accounts
-Prepare and input fixed asset items into the general ledger's fixed asset module
-Code and input check requests into the general ledger; prepare and issue payments
-Crosstrain and provide accounting efforts as needed to supplement and support the accounting efforts of others
-Work professionally, efficiently, and proactively with the Assistant Controller in accomplishing departmental goals
-Ensure documents accurately reflect data, allowing for solid decision-making capability by Executives
-Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal staff and other departments to achieve goals
-Proactively inform the Assistant Controller of any issues which may adversely affect the department or agency
-Responsible for all bookkeeping responsibilities for Common Capital, Inc., an organizational subsidiary
-Assist with the Property & Asset Management department’s accounting needs
-Assist all customers, internal and external

Requirements include:
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or related field; commensurate experience may be a substitute for a degree
-3 years’ experience in a related position
-Working knowledge of automated accounting systems, database management, and administration, plus the ability to generate general and customized reports
-Experience with Blackbaud/Financial Edge helpful, but not required
-Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office applications; comfort and dexterity in learning new technologies and assisting/teaching others in their use
-Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills across all levels of an organization and with external vendors, with the ability to work with diverse populations
-Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, plus the ability to work independently and prioritize
