Description:

Reporting to the Director of Facilities Operations, the Environmental Management Coordinator, coordinates compliance with environmental regulatory programs for the Academy’s campus and operations.  The Environmental Management Coordinator ensures regulatory compliance, assists in promoting safe work practices, and promotes recycling, resource conservation, and energy efficiency to complement the campus’ sustainability efforts.

 Primary Duties and Responsibilities include: managing the implementation of school’s obligations under various state and federal environmental regulatory programs, ensuring compliance with all programs; primary areas of responsibilities include air permitting, spill control, hazardous/special waste; recycling/compost; asbestos; lead paint; HazCom; and Integrated Pest Management; Manage various vendors and maintain all recordkeeping and annual reporting for all environmental regulatory programs as required.

Sign on Bonus - The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at the time of hire and $500 at the end of 90 days.)

Requirements:

The successful candidate for this opportunity will have completed their Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, or a related engineering discipline or sustainability field; have 3-5 years’ experience in oversight of environmental regulatory programs compliance; have the ability and willingness to obtain relevant training or licenses as needed; have excellent verbal, written, organizational and interpersonal skills; strong attention to detail; a high level of quantitative skills to perform business related calculations with accuracy; proficiency with technology (Microsoft Office Suite, Web filings/uploads, Excel, etc) and the ability to learn other software and applications as needed; ability to multitask; ability to work independently or part of a team and have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community.
