Family Support Specialist I

Summary of Position:

Pathlight is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities in Western Massachusetts communities since 1952. The individual in this role would be Responsible for performing a variety of duties to support families who have a member with a disability by providing training, information, family contacts, and referrals to other agencies; administering respite program; educating the community regarding disabilities and/or autism, family support; responsible for the administration of stipends and all documentation.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Develop and execute weekly social programs/groups in the local communities
• Act as a liaison between programs, families, and
• Complete intakes/assessments for the respite program
• Promote Community Integration
• Develop an extensive community-based network

Qualifications:

• Broad knowledge of a discipline involving the use of broad theoretical knowledge equal to a complete 2-year college education.
• Over 1-year direct experience working with families or individuals with disabilities.
• Broad knowledge of disability support services.
• May be required to complete First Aid, CPR, OSHA and/or Safety Care training based on program needs.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation/vehicle required.

Hours: 40 Hrs/Week, 10-6 pm OR 11-7 pm Monday-Friday with the flexibility to meet programmatic needs. This position will include early evenings and occasional weekends due to programming needs.

Salary: $41,454.40 annually
