Description:

Berkshire Hills Music Academy (BHMA) is looking to hire a Clinician for its day and residential programs serving adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. BHMA is a vibrant community located in South Hadley that combines music, life skills, and vocational services to support adults with disabilities. This is a full-time salaried and benefit eligible position in our Health & Wellness Department.

The role of the clinician is to provide mental and behavioral health supports to our residents and participants in our day program. The clinician interacts with all departments and staff ensuring individuals are supported in a consistent manner. The clinician works with families, DDS staff, and other team members to create behavior plans and medication treatment plans when necessary.

At BHMA, the clinician will have the opportunity to facilitate groups on a variety of topics including Emotional Well-Being, Social Skills, Health and Sexuality, and Healthy Relationships. This position will also provide individual supports to participants as needed. Case management with families, outside providers, and funding sources is integral to success in this position.

Requirements:

Requirements for being a clinician at BHMA include:

  • Master’s degree from relevant human service, counseling, or social work program
  • Minimum of five years of experience working with individuals with special needs strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within a Residential setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience mentoring other staff members.
  • Experience with developing and implementing behavior support plans.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in areas of mental health therapeutic services, and supports for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Licensed or licensed tracked in applicable area of work such as counseling, social work, ABA.
  • Demonstrated skill at running meetings efficiently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills as related to report writing, data entry into our EHR, and research
