Position Overview/Responsibilities: Are you looking for rewarding work with adults and children with different abilities in the community? UCP is excited to announce three Family Support Advocate positions available: One part-time AWC position (12 hours), one full-time position, and one AWC position with variable hours. As a Family Support Advocate, you will provide essential support in activities of daily living, emotional guidance, and resources to help individuals overcome challenges and achieve their goals. Your work will focus on promoting socialization, engagement, and community involvement, ensuring that participants can craft their own customized Day Programs. Your day may include: - Time spent in the community
- Time spent at the home or any other location that both the member and family deem appropriate
- Helping a member navigate areas of importance such as hobbies, activities or interests in addition to providing guidance around needed life skills

Family Support Advocate Requirements: - At least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Life or work experience with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities, preferably with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Experience working with families and children is preferred, but training is available for the right candidate.
- Comfortable using computer applications for entering case notes, email communication, and video conferencing (e.g., Microsoft 365/Teams).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Capability to manage emergency situations effectively.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid or the ability to become certified.
- Valid driver's license with a safe driving record, availability of a private vehicle, and up-to-date car insurance.
- CORI, SORI, DPPC, and National Fingerprint Check required.
