THE CONSORTIUM – WILDFLOWER ALLIANCE ANNOUNCES A JOB OPENING FOR THE POSITION OF

Director of Wild Ivy Social Justice Network

Hours: 35 to 40 hours

Pay Range: $30 to $33 per hour (salaried position)

Wild Ivy seeks to increase voice, choice, access, and personal and collective power for those who experience life-interrupting emotional distress and challenges and who have faced additional barriers due to marginalization.

Anticipated responsibilities include team supervision and support, oversight of initiatives, community organizing around important issues as identified by the team/community members, event planning, training, and making sure people are not only getting a seat at ‘the table’ but have developed the tools to build their own tables.

The Director—like all Wild Ivy team members—will also have an area of focus on a particular marginalized community. We are anticipating the Director will be focusing on Black communities in Massachusetts, but as there is some potential for change, we also welcome applications from individuals whose life experience is most relevant to other marginalized communities, as well.

Requirements:

Some knowledge of psychiatric oppression, Massachusetts systems and peer support. Residency in Massachusetts or ability to relocate. Demonstrated experience with community organizing project development and advocacy. Commitment to recognizing and undoing all forms of systemic oppression. Proficient computer and Internet skills.

Preferred: Experience with legislative advocacy. Supervision and/or management experience. Deep understanding of issues relevant to Black Communities.

A plus: Bilingual/bicultural in English/Spanish or English/ASL.

We anticipate this position starting in January. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled, though we plan to do a first round of interviews in November based on applications received by November 1st.

Applications may be submitted to info@wildfloewralliance.org .

Please include a resume and a cover letter describing why you think you are a good fit for this role and related qualifications.

Applications without cover letters will be discarded.
