| After School Group Leader/Counselor The Town of Amherst Recreation Department is seeking multiple After School Group Leaders to be part of Primetime team that provides high quality care experiences for children K-6.  This position is 3-18 hours per week and qualified applicants must be over 18 and successfully pass CORI, SORI and SAFIS fingerprinting background checks.   JOB SUMMARY:  As a team leader for the After-School Program, the Group Leader/Counselor provides after-school day care educational and recreational experiences for children and guides and directs activities. | 
								| MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: High School Degree or equivalent PLUS one to three years of demonstrated experience leading, guiding, and planning children’s educational and recreational activities; OR any equivalent combination of related education and experience. Ability to maintain confidentiality.Must have First Aid and CPR certifications or the ability to acquire certifications within three months of hire.Must be able to successfully pass CORI and SORI screens and SAFIS fingerprinting.Continued employment is contingent upon completion of Child Abuse Prevention, Safety, and other trainings as required by the local town or state. 
 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:   Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.  Experience in creating educational and recreational curricula.Knowledgeable about child development, motivational, and child psychology techniques.
