Water Resources Technician -Waste Water (Laboratory Technician II)

DPW – Waste Water

The Town of Amherst seeks a Water Resources Technician to performs a variety of monitoring, sampling, and laboratory analyses pursuant to the requirements of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP). Tasks are generally related to compliance monitoring of water, sewer, landfill, drainage and other regulated activities of the Town.

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Associates Degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry, geology, engineering, or other related subject PLUS a minimum of four (4) years of professional experience OR a combination of education and experience which demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.  NEWEA Voluntary Lab Analyst Certification Level I. Commonwealth of Massachusetts Grade 4 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators License. Valid Massachusetts Driver’s license.
