|The People’s Medicine Project (https://www.peoplesmedicineproject.com/) is seeking a part-time (18-20 hour/wk) Operations and Development Manager to address People’s Medicine Project’s organizational and fund development goals. Anticipated hourly rate is $18-$20/hour depending on experience. Typical responsibilities include:|
• Coordinating fundraising efforts (grant writing, donor relationships, event planning, grant follow up/ benchmarks and deliverables).
• Working with Project Director to evaluate the program and manage/oversee budget.
• Managing communications and community engagement (maintain social medial, update website, update, create, and manage outreach materials).
• Working with Project Director to develop and manage Advisory Committee.
• Working with Project Director and Advisory Board to clarify, manage and communicate policies and procedures.
• Maintaining and/or improving current organizational systems; and documenting procedures and policies to build an “organizational memory” that reinforces our replicable model of bringing alternative medicine to the people.
People’s Medicine is transitioning from a primarily volunteer-led organization to a more sustainable model including funded core staff positions. We are seeking a candidate that is energized by and capable of taking a successful small project to the next level. A successful candidate will excel in shared leadership, collaborative thinking, flexibility, and integrity.
People’s Medicine is a social justice project focusing on health equity. As we seek to increase the accessibility of alternative health care, our volunteers and staff are required to participate in trainings and organizational dialogue about what accessibility means, and acknowledge systems of oppression that contribute to healthcare inequity. We seek candidates who are willing to grow in this area and prioritize accessibility in organizational and personal actions. Since we believe “lived experience” is our most valuable resource, black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) and people who identify with marginalized communities that experience systemic racism and oppression are strongly encouraged to apply. Skills and Abilities Sought:
Excellent writing skills. Experience with organizational development, outreach, administrative/ operations management, and fund development. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and be proficient in Microsoft Suite, data management and social media. Must have ability to work well autonomously as well as be an effective team member. Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
