WIC Senior Nutritionist (Greenfield)
The Senior Nutritionist is part of a management team alongside the Program Director and is responsible for the management and administration of the nutrition services aspect of the WIC Program. In addition, the Senior Nutritionist assumes the role of Breastfeeding Coordinator and oversees the breastfeeding peer counseling program. The WIC (Women, Infants and Children) Program is a local program housed within Community Action Pioneer Valley (CAPV) with the purpose of helping pregnant and postpartum individuals, as well as infants and children up to the age of 5 obtain nutrition education, assessments and monitoring, as well as a food package with nutritious foods to support healthy living and reduce food insecurity. The WIC Senior Nutritionist plays an integral role ensuring compliance with state regulations and policies, as well as managing and training staff including one Nutritionist and two Breastfeeding Peer Counselors.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Dietitian with one-year post-graduate community nutrition experience OR have a Bachelor’s Degree in public health nutrition, nutrition or nutrition education and two years of post-graduate community nutrition experience, OR have a Master’s Degree in public health nutrition, nutrition or nutrition education and one-year post-graduate community nutrition experience, as well as experience in nutrition counseling and one year’s experience as a supervisor. This is a 37.5 hr/week position plus 2 hours for the Breastfeeding Coordinator role totaling 39.5 hr/week and non-exempt. The salary range is $27.30-$28.97/hr.
