Girls Inc. of the Valley is seeking a Youth Support Coordinator to join our Program Department. We deliver life-changing programs that inspire girls* to be strong, smart, and bold! The Youth Support Coordinator will be responsible for supporting Girls Inc. participants and their mental health needs. This position is a combination of two part time positions – general program facilitation coupled with oversight of our partnership with River Valley Counseling, our mental health consultant and the Department of Public Health (DPH) program requirements. This is primarily an in-person, on-site position with the opportunity for occasional remote work. The Youth and Family Support Coordinator will:
•Build relationships with Girls Inc. participants, program staff, community contacts and Girls Inc.’s mental health consultant to implement after-school, site-based and/or virtual programs in alignment with our mission and in support of youth mental health
• Spend 15- 20 hours a week facilitating general Girls Inc. programs
• Attend monthly meetings and trainings required by DPH
• Be an active member of community organizations supporting youth mental health
• Complete monthly grant reporting and billing
• Conduct client intakes and quarterly assessments

• Demonstrate commitment to Girls Inc.’s mission, vision, and advocacy statement
• Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, human service; or comparable field or equivalent life/ work experiences
• 2 years’ experience working in a summer program, out-of-school environment, early childhood development, school system or a related field
• An awareness of and commitment to social justice education and promoting diversity, equity and inclusion within the organization including support for gender equity, reproductive justice, trans rights, and anti-racism
• High level of comfort and skill with computer applications, technology, email, Zoom, Microsoft Suite, and Google Suite
• First Aid and CPR certified, or a willingness to attend training
• Must be Covid vaccinated and boosted, or be willing to get vaccinated before employment
• Sense of humor and ability to roll with the ever-changing nature of working with youth

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) candidates given favorable consideration
• Valid driver’s license, with good driving record, and ability to drive a 15-passenger van
