Due to a promotion within, we are looking for our next great Purchaser/Inventory Control Specialist! You can’t be shy in this position, as you will be learning from just about everyone in the company. Must be an initiative-taker that can work independently. Reading and interpreting shop drawings is key to your success as well as inventory forecasting in a custom shop environment. It’s interesting work that changes from day to day!

We work with some of the largest and most prestigious museums and educational institutions in the US.

 

A little about the job:

This position involves the interpretation of manufacturing drawings and inventory systems to procure materials and supplies needed, as well as inventory control responsibilities. Candidate will use Sage 100 2022 Purchasing, Vendor, & Inventory modules. It’s a highly communicative position that interacts with Sales, CAD designers, shop floor, outside contractors, vendors, and service providers.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  •  Provide procurement support to the Sales Dept, CAD Dept, Manufacturing, and Management teams.
  • Research cost savings opportunities and request quotes. 
  • Forecast material and service requirements using various methods (no ERP). 
  • Review manufacturing work orders, bill of materials and drawing packages. 
  • Manage inventory, inventory database, daily and monthly physical inventory adjustments.
  • Proficiency in typing, 10-key numeric key pad, Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Crystal Reports and Sage 100 2022 preferred. 
  • Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, Technical, or related fields preferred. 
  • Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience required. 
  • Ability to interpret complex manufacturing drawings and bill of materials required. 
  • Manufacturing experience required.
