Warehouse Manager Apprentice

Who We Are 

Royal Talens North America is a growing consumer products company and a leading supplier of premium fine art materials and writing instruments. From our distribution center and headquarters in Northampton, Massachusetts, we serve customers across the United States and Canada with brands trusted by artists, students, and creators worldwide.

We are seeking a motivated, dependable, and hands-on individual to join our Operations team and develop into a future warehouse leader. This role provides practical experience in inventory management, warehouse systems, logistics, team leadership, and continuous improvement. You'll work alongside experienced leaders and gain the skills necessary to manage a high-performing distribution operation.

What You'll Do

  • Learn and support all aspects of daily warehouse operations including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Develop proficiency with our warehouse management systems and reporting tools.
  • Assist with inventory control, cycle counts, and maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Support workflow planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Work closely with warehouse team members to achieve productivity and service goals.
  • Participate in employee training and onboarding activities.
  • Learn leadership fundamentals including communication, accountability, data management, and problem-solving.
  • Support projects and process improvements that strengthen operational performance.

Qualifications:

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong work ethics and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Desire to grow into a leadership position.

 Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
  • Previous warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics experience.
  • Experience with inventory systems or ERP/WMS software.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Prior leadership experience, including athletics, military service, clubs, or supervisory responsibilities.

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Standing, walking, bending, and moving throughout the warehouse for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment with seasonal temperature variation.
