Description:
This position is pivotal to promoting a thriving intergenerational community where children, families and elders invest in each other’s well-being daily.

The Intergenerational Community Facilitator is a leadership role at Treehouse, advancing continuous intergenerational community development by overseeing and promoting responsive programming and best practices; enhancing intergenerational community engagement and empowerment; fostering effective communication and collaboration in the mission-based Treehouse Community.

COMMUNITY FACILITATOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee program development and implementation, ensuring responsiveness to emerging community needs & opportunities
• Uphold a welcoming, inclusive and safe intergenerational Treehouse Community
• Cultivate a generative, empowering intergenerational community learning environment
• Supervise HEROES Director, Treehouse Volunteer Coordinator, Education Coordinator, Intergenerational Arts Coordinator and other staff, as relevant
• Engage, recruit and build connection for Treehouse community members elders and families
• Integrate best practices in trauma-informed intergenerational programs and the community
• Maintain community protocols including safety measures, confidentiality and incident response, in collaboration with partner organizations
• Cultivate and support effective communication, information sharing and problem-solving strategies with organizational partners, and community members
• Plan and maintain calendar of events and activities with staff
• Assist the development and operation of community committees and events
• Support Re-Envisioning Foster Care in America Movement programs, events, collaborations and partnerships within the region, and regional Treehouse Community replication efforts
• Host visitors and represent the Treehouse Community and Foundation
• Oversee and collaborate with partners on data gathering, assessment, evaluation
• Some grant writing and fundraising to secure resources for community programs
• Occasional public speaking about Treehouse at events, trainings and conferences
• Occasional evening and weekend hours should be expected.
• Support special projects and initiatives, as assigned
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree required. MSW or Master’s degree preferred.
Equivalent educational degree and clinical or work experience will be considered.
• 8+ years of experience in program management on nonprofit leadership teams
• Demonstrated expertise in program development and implementation
• Experience working effectively with program budgets
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication skills, as well as demonstrated experience
with a strengths-based approach
• Excellent supervisory and clinical skills and experience
• Relevant knowledge and experience with foster care and adoption, transition aged youth, families and seniors
• Experience working with different ages, stages and abilities and employing different approaches and tools to enhance learning and growth
• Experience promoting and maintaining collaborations and organizational partnerships
• Experience working within a team and promoting teamwork
• Ability to work effectively and flexibly within dynamic community/program settings
• Experience working with diverse populations and engaging different values and perspectives
• Well-grounded; ability to create and maintain an environment that promotes regulation
and well-being
• Knowledge/expertise in human development, attachment, trauma, loss, foster care,
and pre- through post-adoption issues
• Ability to set priorities and work independently and cooperatively
• Strong group and meeting facilitation skills
• Experience working in community and non-traditional settings
• Solid computer, software and technology skills. Ability to use technology creatively to promote learning and independence and organizational coordination
• Personal experience with foster care and/or adoption is a plus
