The Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF), located in Agawam, MA, is seeking a full-time Grants Manager. This position will support current operational activities of the HGF Grants department and participate in new initiatives of the foundation.
About the HGF
HGF seeks to further the realization of the religious and ethical principles and aspirations of Judaism via its flagship programs: PJ Library; JCamp 180, Life & Legacy, and Voices & Visions, and through grants to eligible individuals and organizations in Western Massachusetts. The largest of the programs, PJ Library, provides families with high-quality children's books, music, and other resources that foster Jewish learning and create a gateway for deeper engagement in Jewish life.
The Position
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Grants Manager provides management and direction, with guidance from the CFO, in various programs and projects to ensure alignment with the HGF’s grantmaking programs and overall mission and goals. A special focus of this position is to transform data management from a manual process to an automated process to ensure accurate and efficient reporting of grant-related data. The Grants Manager supports and manages various administrative and financial functions related to grants management. The Grants Manager will directly supervise the Grants Associate team members.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Grants Management:

• Collaborate with relevant parties to plan and implement grant programs
• Maintain relationships with foundation staff and provide regular and ad hoc impact reports and other communication
• Prepare grant performance reports for evaluation; prepare and submit grant agreements, management plans and progress reports as required
• Transform and oversee the continual improvement of grants management operational systems, processes and policies including automation of manual coding and quality assurance processes
• Ensure compliance with IRS regulations and HGF requirements for grants; manage award deliverables in accordance with grant policy manuals and schedules for assigned grant programs
• Design, administer, and maintain Blackbaud Grantmaking, dashboards, forms, templates, reports, and data structure
• Oversee grant workflow processes related to data entry to ensure adequate internal controls and oversee quality control of data to ensure accurate and efficient reporting of grants data
• Develop, write, maintain and implement all grants management policies and procedures
• Develop grant budget and expense tracking processes

General Administration:

• Direct, motivate and assist Grants Associates, ensuring needs and objectives of the department are met
• Provide all database support and assistance for grant programs
• Provide database training to new user staff members
• Lead the Grants department with financial and administrative projects
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the CFO
• Bachelor’s degree is required
• Minimum of three years of management experience
• Project management experience
• Experience with Blackbaud Grantmaking preferred
• Experience with financial reporting preferred
