The Northampton Recovery Center, a program of The Western MA Training Consortium, seeks a 30-hour-per-week Volunteer Coordinator to work in the center in Northampton, MA. This position involves maintaining a safe space for NRC participants, upholding the Code of Ethics and trauma-informed values, overseeing all aspects of membership including peer mentoring, and leadership development, recruiting and scheduling volunteers to maintain a presence at the front desk, current members about their interests, and connecting members with volunteer opportunities, and managing volunteer and membership processes including orientation, record keeping, and recognition among other tasks. A candidate with lived experience in recovery and a commitment to social justice and creating a sense of belonging is preferred. The Northampton Recovery Center is a peer-to-peer recovery support center, meaning that we value the wisdom of lived experience and prioritize self-determination as it relates to the many pathways of recovery and the individual's desired way of interacting within the community. Our Volunteer Coordinator will work within and build upon the existing systems as they relate to the role of Volunteers and Peer Members of the center, and will work collaboratively with the center’s Peer Members and Staff on developing their understanding and skills with respect to the importance of mentoring and supporting center Volunteers.
