PVPA has an immediate opening for a full-time middle school Math Teacher.  We are looking for a reflective practitioner who is interested in integrating the arts into the curriculum, teaching with a social justice lens, collaborating with students and colleagues, and has experience in implementing restorative practices in the classroom. This candidate will strengthen the comprehensive math program at PVPA to support and challenge each student.

 Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach four blocks of middle school math and one split block of middle school advisory & math intervention class 
  • Attend and participate in weekly collaborative planning time and team, grade level, department and faculty meetings
  • Prepare classroom materials and curricula
  • Assess student work and provide timely and specific feedback to students
  • Monitor and adjust instruction in response to interim assessment data
  • Contact parents early and often to provide updates on student progress
  • Provide feedback through required grade/narrative reports; complete and submit reports by prescribed due date
  • Adhere to all policies in the Staff Handbook and Student/Parent Handbook
  • Other duties as required

 Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Eligible for Highly Qualified Teacher status
  • CORI and Fingerprint background checks

 Preferred Requirements:

  • Two to five years of experience teaching math in a public or private school
  • Experience with middle school students
  • Knowledge of discipline curriculum standards
  • Massachusetts teaching license in subject area 
  • Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement
  • Computer literacy including remote, or in a hybrid teaching if needed
